American Elites on Trial

Below is a non-comprehensive list of cases that are either directly against corrupt American elites or against powerful, elite-driven institutions of the last several decades (i.e. fossil fuel companies, war industry, environmentally degrading companies, big banks and companies, etc.). Between the Harvard-USC-Aunt Becky Scandal, Jeffrey Epstein and Co-Conspirators, Climate Crimes, Financial Crimes, Opioid Crimes, White Collar Crimes, and War Crimes, the courts have been busy with elite cases and are likely to continue to be flooded with them in the years ahead.

Climate Cases:

David Hasemyer has a pretty comprehensive list of climate cases here.

Epstein:

Julie K. Brown is one of the lead journalists that broke and continues to break headlines around the Epstein Sex Trafficking Affair. The Miami Herald has an Epstein File entitled Perversion of Justice.

In the days after his death in August of 2019, his estate had at least five different civil claims filed against it according to the New York Times.

Paris prosecutors to formally investigate Epstein scandal.

Opioids:

Considering it’s as easy as clicking a button and sending an email or two to sign on to a class action, the flood gates on the opioid scandal from 2000–2020 are likely only barely open. The behavior of drug makers has been beyond negligent or careless.

The Sacklers, the owners of Purdue Pharma, are a focal point of the opioid crisis. Many villainize them. I think rightly so.

Johnson & Johnson Ordered to Pay $572 Million in Landmark Opioid Trial: Oklahoma pursued the first case against a drug manufacturer for the national public health disaster, and the ruling may indicate what lies ahead in 2,000 more lawsuits.

Harvard-USC:

Coming into 2019, there is no way I could have predicted that Aunt Becky would catch bribery and rackateering charges, but…strange times.

War Crimes:

TBD…Likely to commence upon the official ending of the War on Terror, which should be officially ended immediately.

Financial Crimes Related to 2008 Financial Collapse:

We all know…like one guy to date has been brought to justice for the crimes that led to the Financial Collapse of 2007–08. One dude. Most of the other dudes got raises and promotions.
